In first 10 months of 2013 Hong Kong custom seized over 3,350 ivory tusks

Only in 2013 and only in the port of Hong Kong, so far the custom seized over 3,350 ivory tusks.
It’s more than 1,675 dead elephants who ended up in this Chinese port.
Customs commonly assumes a 10% seizure success rate.
You do the math…

China is acting as a vacuum cleaner for elephants, and with no shame.
And while all this is happening they are investing in new ivory carving factories and lobbying CITES to be able in the future to buy more ivory from African countries (and from Hong Kong?)

Dear International Community, it’s time to become more confrontational with China and with all the ivory trade stakeholders.
