In South Africa, Kruger National Park’s rangers deals big blow over weekend, arresting & killing several poachers.

Rangers on the Mozambique’s side of the Kruger also had three contacts with three separate groups of poachers on Saturday and managed to arrest three suspects, coming out of and going into the park.

National Parks authorities (SANParks) communicated last week that by August 21, a total of 167 alleged rhino poachers had been arrested in 2013.
The total number of rhino poached in South Africa since January 2013 has increased to 587 with the Kruger hardest hit, having lost 362 so far this year.

Important anti-poaching agreements with Mozambique, to protect both rhinos and elephants, are expected in the near future.
