Four ivory traffickers arrested in Cameroon, thanks to LAGA

Four ivory traffickers arrested in Douala, Cameroon, in two operations within one hour!
We celebrate the crackdown.
16 tusks and many curved items seized including chopsticks. In the picture you see two of the traffickers with just their part of the seizure.
Douala is always difficult as traffickers are getting more careful and smarter (well not too smart apparently…)
One of the tusks was actually seized by us 4 years ago, and deposited in the national stock, exposing the sale of government stock back to traffickers, a corruption investigation needs to find what level of complicity we are talking about.
Ivory stocks around the world are frequently sold back to the illegal trade by corrupt government officials, the only way to fight greed is to burn it and destroy – like the Philippines just done.
