Today the Philippines became the world’s first Asian country to destroy its national confiscated ivory stock.

It’s also the first time that an ivory-consumer country gets rid of the stock, sending a very clear messages to other Asian and African countries: stop the ivory trade and don’t put a value on the existing stocks.

We all praise the government of the Philippines for this important and courageous gesture, and we hope that other countries will do the same.

Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, UAE, Tanzania, Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, etc…..are you there?
Oh yeh, we forgot…China, are you there?
