Breaking News from the CITES Convention in Bangkok:
Minister of Forest of the Republic of Congo announces intention to burn the country ivory’s stock of over 5,000 tusks.
The Minister thinks that the only way to stop the killing of the elephants is to stop the ivory trade in Asia.

The Minister also said that all the illegal ivory seized in Asia should return to Africa to be burned or should be burned in Asia, with the origin country’s authorization.

This is a major development that gives a great example to other African countries.
